Kwatch is a good value breadth play. If you need to watch the same handful of keywords across six platforms and you want one $19 line item instead of four, it is hard to beat on price. It is the wrong tool if Reddit is your channel and your problem is deciding which of fifty matches deserves a reply, because Kwatch stops at the alert.
Kwatch at a glance
What Kwatch does
There are two distinct products inside Kwatch, and the second one is the more interesting of the two.
Keyword monitoring
The standard model. You define keywords, Kwatch watches new posts and comments across the platforms your plan covers, and you get an email, a Slack message or an API webhook when one matches. On paid plans an AI layer analyzes the sentiment around the keyword, so you can tell praise from complaint without opening every link.
Conversation tracking
This is the feature that is genuinely less common. You select a specific Reddit or Hacker News thread, or even a specific comment, and Kwatch alerts you whenever somebody new replies inside it. For anyone who has ever posted in a thread and then refreshed it for two days, this is a real quality of life improvement. It is capped by plan: two tracked conversations per platform on Essential, ten on Business, fifty on Enterprise.
Delivery and speed
Email on every plan. Slack notifications, API webhooks and an MCP endpoint for AI agents start at the $79 Business plan. Kwatch describes the refresh rate as per second, with notifications arriving within a couple of seconds and up to a minute during temporary congestion. That is fast, and faster than most of this category needs to be.
Kwatch pricing, plan by plan
These figures come from the KWatch.io pricing page as it stood in September 2026. The Reddit column is the headline number most people care about, but note that every plan also carries separate, much smaller allowances for X, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.
| Plan | Price | Tracked threads | Notable | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 2 keyword alerts | None | No AI, no filtering, no integrations |
| Essential | $19/mo | 20 keyword alerts | 2 on Reddit, 2 on HN | AI analysis, filtering and saved results |
| Business | $79/mo | 100 keyword alerts | 10 on Reddit, 10 on HN | API, webhooks, Slack, MCP, bulk import, teams |
| Enterprise | $199/mo | 500 keyword alerts | 50 on Reddit, 50 on HN | Everything above plus advanced support |
| Agency | Custom | Custom | Custom | Multi-client management, advanced support |
A note on wording. The pricing page says things like "Reddit: 20 keyword alerts", which reads as twenty tracked keywords rather than twenty alert emails a month. The page does not spell that out, so if you are close to a limit it is worth asking before you subscribe. Kwatch also says plans are prorated and can be stopped at any time, with any unused portion applied as a discount on later invoices.
The jump that matters: Slack, webhooks, MCP, bulk keyword import and team management all sit on the $79 Business plan. If your workflow is "alerts land in a team Slack channel", your real entry price is $79 a month, not $19.
What Kwatch gets right
A free tier that is real
Two Reddit keywords and two Hacker News keywords at $0, with no time limit stated. It is narrow, but it is enough to watch your brand name and one competitor forever.
Thread-level tracking
Getting pinged when someone replies in a specific thread is genuinely useful and rarely offered. It turns a manual refresh habit into a notification.
Breadth for the money
Six platforms starting at $19 is aggressive pricing. Multi-platform listening suites typically start four to eight times higher.
Honest FAQ
Their own FAQ states plainly what they do not cover, including YouTube audio, private Facebook groups, Instagram and TikTok. Vendors that volunteer their gaps are easier to trust on everything else.
Where Kwatch falls short
Coverage is uneven across platforms
The six-platform headline hides a lot of variation. LinkedIn and Facebook are posts only, with no comment coverage. YouTube is titles and descriptions only, so a mention inside a twenty minute video is invisible. Only Reddit, Hacker News and X get posts and comments. If your mentions tend to live in comment threads, three of the six sources are much thinner than they look.
Sentiment is not intent
Kwatch says its AI analyzes the sentiment towards your keyword. That answers "how do they feel", which is a brand monitoring question. It does not answer "is this person about to buy something", which is the sales question. Someone posting a furious complaint and someone asking which tool to buy can read as similar signal strength, and you still open both.
Integrations are gated high
Slack, webhooks and MCP sitting on the $79 plan is the most consequential pricing decision in the product. At $19 you are on email, which puts Kwatch in direct competition with free tools. F5Bot also delivers email alerts for Reddit and Hacker News, at $0.
No lead workflow
There is no scoring, no queue, no drafting, no record of which threads you replied to. Kwatch is a detection layer. Everything after detection is you, a browser tab and your own judgment, which is fine if volume is low and expensive if it is not.
No Reddit specialization
Because Kwatch treats all six platforms as variations of the same pipeline, there is nothing Reddit-specific in it. No subreddit quality weighting, no awareness that a match in a 2,000 member niche subreddit can be worth more than one in a 4 million member general one, no sense of a community's rules or tone.
Kwatch compared
The useful comparison is not which product has more features, it is whether you are buying breadth or depth.
| Tool | Entry price | Platforms | Intent scoring | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kwatch | Free, then $19/mo | 6 | Sentiment only | Cheap multi-platform alerts |
| F5Bot | Free | 3 | No | Knowing when you are mentioned |
| Peeklens | $19/mo | Reddit only | Yes (0-10) | Turning mentions into leads |
| Subreddit Signals | $29/mo | Reddit only | Yes, buyer intent | Founder-led Reddit outreach |
| Octolens | $159/mo annual | 13+ | AI relevance | Company-wide listening |

Who Kwatch is right for
- You genuinely need more than Reddit, and LinkedIn or X matter to you.
- You want sentiment on brand mentions without paying enterprise listening prices.
- You follow specific threads and want to be told when they move.
- You are technical and will wire webhooks into your own system on the Business plan.
- You want to start at $0 and see what volume looks like before committing.
Kwatch is the wrong purchase if Reddit is the only place you sell, if your bottleneck is triage rather than detection, or if you were hoping for help writing the reply. In the first case a Reddit-first tool gives you more for the same money. In the second and third, Kwatch does not attempt the job at all.
Where Peeklens fits
We build a competing Reddit tool, so weigh this accordingly. The split is clean enough to state plainly: Kwatch is broader, we are deeper on one platform.
- Intent scoring from 0 to 10 on every Reddit match, so recommendation requests outrank passing mentions without you reading both.
- AI reply drafts written in the tone of the subreddit, which you edit and post from your own account. Nothing auto-posts.
- Competitor mention tracking tuned for the complaint and alternative-seeking phrasing where switching conversations start.
What Kwatch does better: six platforms instead of one, a free tier, per-thread conversation tracking, and a webhook and MCP surface we do not match. If you need LinkedIn and Facebook coverage, we are not a substitute, and plenty of people should reasonably run a broad alert tool alongside a Reddit-specific one.
